Hoskins out of lineup, getting scheduled day off

PHILADELPHIA -- Phillies manager Gabe Kapler's lineups have been a topic of fascination through the first 11 games of the season.
So it is worth noting that , who is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, did not start in Wednesday night's series finale against the Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Rookie started in left field instead.
"He is going to be in the lineup just about every day for the rest of the season," Kapler said. "We have to kind of pick and choose the times when he can get back-to-back blows so he can be super healthy going forward and feel like his timing is still synced up and on point."
The Phillies do not play Thursday, but beginning Friday in Tampa Bay they will play 19 games in 20 days and 38 games in 41 days.
Hoskins is hitting .375 with a 1.219 OPS. He has reached base safely in nine of 10 games this season.
"I talked to Rhys somewhere in the neighborhood of a week ago, but we planned a couple of different possibilities and days and this morning, I let him know," Kapler said.
