Pipeline Podcast: Breaking down updated Top 100 Prospects list
The first Top 100 Prospects list refresh of the season dropped on Monday and there's plenty to discuss.
On this week's edition of the Pipeline Podcast, Jim Callis, Jonathan Mayo and Jason Ratliff dive into the updated list and break down the eight prospects who were added to the Top 100.
The crew also breaks down some notable risers, including red hot Nationals prospect James Wood, who rose from No. 12 to No. 5 overall, and Mets right-hander Christian Scott, who jumped to MLB's No. 58 prospect.
Leading the group of newcomers is Mariners outfield prospect Lazaro Montes. The Cuban native, equipped with 65-grade power, sports a .308/.417/.533 slash line so far in 2024 and debuted on the Top 100 list as the No. 85 prospect.
Following the Top 100 list discussion, Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler -- who jumped from No. 83 to No. 67 on the list -- joins Mayo to discuss his season, deciding to be a pitcher only and his relationship with Paul Skenes.
The crew ends the episode by revisiting MLB No. 2 prospect Skenes' MLB debut from this past weekend and answering some Draft-related questions from the mailbag.
