BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Pirates' top two pitching prospects will take the mound Monday to start the annual Black & Gold intrasquad game at McKechnie Field.
Right-hander Jameson Taillon will start for the Black team. Right-hander Tyler Glasnow, the club's No. 1 prospect, will pitch for the Gold team. Each prospect is scheduled to throw two innings in the 5 1/2-inning game.

Taillon will be followed by left-hander Steven Brault and right-hander Chad Kuhl, two more of the organization's top young arms who are most likely bound for Triple-A Indianapolis. They will throw two innings each.
After Glasnow, the Gold team will hand the ball to reliever John Holdzkom for an inning. Holdzkom will be followed by right-handed prospect Trevor Williams, who will throw the final two innings.

But first, all eyes will be on Glasnow and Taillon, two highly touted young pitchers who could make their Major League debuts later this year. Both are ticketed for the Triple-A rotation to begin the season, and they'll likely be sent to Minor League camp early as the Pirates look to divvy up their Grapefruit League innings among the pitchers competing for an Opening Day roster spot.
"We want to see [Taillon] on the bump, on the mound a little bit. We want to see Glasnow on the mound," manager Clint Hurdle said. "There will come a time in camp where you have to prioritize innings. You only have so many to work with. Until that point, we do want to get a look at some of our own people in respective fashion."
