Bucs announce PiratesFest updates due to winter weather

6:08 PM UTC

The Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday announced updates impacting the schedule of Saturday’s PiratesFest, Presented by RE/MAX Select Realty, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Player appearances and event times will change due to the severe winter weather affecting most of the United States.

With travel this weekend becoming increasingly challenging, several originally scheduled players are unfortunately unable to make it to and from Pittsburgh. In addition, due to the anticipated impact on the Pittsburgh region, PiratesFest will now conclude one hour earlier, at 5 p.m., as opposed to the original 6:00 p.m. end time.

With these changes, the Pirates will refund all donations for the 2026 autograph sessions while still honoring the session tickets and times.

What this means:

• All autograph sessions will still take place as planned, with current Pirates players and Pirates alumni participating in each session. However, several sessions will not have the originally scheduled participants. All new session participants will be announced, and fans will be updated as information becomes available. Players who have been impacted to this point that were scheduled to take part in the autograph sessions include: Joey Bart, Jhostynxon Garcia, Brandon Lowe, Ryan O’Hearn, Bryan Reynolds, and Dennis Santana.

• Donations for ALL autograph sessions will be fully refunded. Accounts will be automatically refunded in the coming days. Fans who donated for an autograph session are asked to keep their tickets to still take part in their scheduled autograph session time. Tickets will not be cancelled, but donations will be refunded.

The earlier end time is to ensure the safety of our fans, players, and staff due to the potential weather that may impact travel to parts of western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, and West Virginia, as well as outside the region.

These decisions were made after consultation with trusted area weather services, and with an emphasis on using an abundance of caution. We understand this is disappointing to many of our fans attending on Saturday, especially those planning to see certain players, but the safety and well-being of everyone involved is our top priority, and these decisions were made with that in mind.

The Pirates encourage all fans traveling to Pittsburgh from throughout the region to please monitor their weather apps and to travel safely.

For those fans still able to attend PiratesFest, we look forward to hosting you and celebrating Pirates baseball.
