Pirates unveil 2018 promotional schedule

Club announces single-game tickets will go on sale Dec. 8

PITTSBURGH -- The Pirates on Monday released their promotional schedule for next year and announced that single-game tickets for the 2018 season will go on sale Dec. 8.
Tickets for all home games, including the home opener on April 2, will be available at 10 a.m. ET on Dec. 8. There will be pre-sale opportunities for full-season ticket holders, half-season ticket holders and 20-game season ticket holders (10 a.m. on Tuesday), as well as pirates.com registered users, group leaders and more (Nov. 29).
The Pirates have 42 promotional dates scheduled for next season, with 21 giveaways for the first 20,000 fans, 14 Kids Days and seven Zambelli Fireworks nights. Each game and accompanying promotion can be seen on pirates.com/schedule or pirates.com/promotions.
The promotional schedule starts with the home opener against the Twins on April 2, as all fans will receive a 2018 magnetic schedule. There are five bobblehead dates on the schedule: a vintage item on May 19, a walk-off edition on June 23, Josh Bell on July 14, Andy Van Slyke on Aug. 4 and on Sept. 8.
The "Free Shirt Friday" promotion will return next year, as will Sunday Kids Days that feature giveaways including rally towels, miniature bats, camo socks, Velcro dart boards, Pirates Hulk bobbleheads and replica jerseys.
There will be plenty of other items available, including an figurine on July 6, a Pirates fedora on July 7 and a Pirates Oktoberfest stein on Sept. 22.
All of the 2018 promotion items will be on display at PiratesFest, which will be held at PNC Park on Dec. 9. The Bucs also have seven fireworks nights on the schedule: April 7, April 28, May 18 (Star Wars Night), June 22, July 28, Aug. 18 and Sept. 21.
