PITTSBURGH -- The Pirates locked in the last of their unsigned Day 1 Draft picks on Thursday, announcing a deal with right-hander Steven Jennings, the 42nd overall pick.
Jennings agreed to a $1.9 million signing bonus, according to MLBPipeline.com's Jim Callis, above the pick's slot value of $1,635,500.
The Pirates have now signed all four of the high school players they selected on Draft Day 1, with Jennings joining right-hander Shane Baz (No. 12 overall) and outfielders Calvin Mitchell (50th) and Conner Uselton (72nd).

Jennings will begin his professional career with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Pirates, the same assignment Baz received. Jennings is a 6-foot-2 right-hander drafted out of DeKalb County (Tenn.) High School. He also played football in high school and returned from a torn ACL to go 5-2 with a 0.54 ERA and 99 strikeouts in his senior season.
With Jennings signed, the Pirates' top unsigned pick is third-round third baseman Dylan Busby, whose Florida State Seminoles were eliminated Wednesday from the College World Series. The only other unsigned pick from the top 10 rounds is high school right-hander Cody Bolton, the Bucs' sixth-round selection.
To this point, the Pirates have used $9,157,300 of their $10,135,900 bonus pool on their top 10-round picks. Busby's pick has a slot value of $626,600, while Bolton's selection came with a slot value of $255,900. Both are expected to sign before the July 7 deadline.
The Bucs announced four more Draft signings on Thursday, inking deals with right-hander Jake Webb (19th round), catcher Manny Bejerano (30th), right-hander Hector Quinones (32nd) and right-hander Ryan Valdes (33rd). All four were assigned to the GCL Pirates.
The Pirates have signed 25 of their 42 Draft picks.
