NEW YORK -- The game between the Yankees and Pirates on Tuesday has been rescheduled due to inclement weather in tonight's forecast. It will be made up as part of a separate-admission doubleheader on Wednesday.
The postponement was announced approximately five hours before the scheduled first pitch. Wednesday’s regularly scheduled game has been moved a half-hour earlier to 1:05 p.m. ET, with the makeup contest to be played at 7:05 p.m. ET.
For the Yankees, it will be their second day-night doubleheader in a four-day span. They split a twin bill against the Dodgers on Sunday, necessitated by a rainout the previous day.
The Pirates will start Mitch Keller in Wednesday's opener and Bubba Chandler in the nightcap. The Yankees did not immediately reveal their revised pitching plans. Will Warren was scheduled to start Tuesday and Gerrit Cole on Wednesday.
Fans with paid tickets for the July 21 game may use them for the rescheduled game at 7:05 p.m. or exchange them for tickets to a similar regular season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) as described in the Yankees’ rain check policy, which may be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck.
On Wednesday, Yankee Stadium gates will open at 12 p.m. ET for Game 1. At approximately 5:30 p.m., gates will open for Game 2, at which time distribution will begin for the July 21 scheduled promotional item (Harry Potter Night -- Aaron Judge Harry Potter Houses Bobblehead to the 1st 18,000 guests in attendance).
Gate openings for Game 2 may be delayed depending upon the conclusion of Game 1. Both games will be broadcast by the YES Network.
