Austin Meadows and Ronald Acuña Jr. were named the American League and National League Player of the Week Award winners presented by W.B. Mason, Major League Baseball announced Monday.

Both players are part of the current youth movement in baseball and won monthly league Rookie of the Month Awards last year -- Meadows in May and Acuna in August.

Meadows hit .545 over the course of the week, going 12-for-22, with four home runs and 12 RBIs. He had a 1.182 slugging percentage and struck out just three times. Meadows and the Rays went 5-1 for the week.

Meadows' home runs included two home runs on Friday in Toronto off Trent Thornton, beginning with a leadoff homer.

Meadows currently leads the Rays in WAR, and the team has the best record in baseball.

Acuna had an identical .545 batting average, going 12-for-22 on the week as well for the Braves. He hit three homers and knocked in nine runs as the Braves went 4-2 over the course of the week.

Acuna entered the week hitting .129 on the season with a .612 OPS. Entering this week, he's now up to a .302 average and 1.072 OPS thanks to an award-winning performance last week.

Acuna leads the Braves in WAR this season with 1.5 and is second in the NL to only Cody Bellinger (1.9), last week's NL Player of the Week.
