In honor of May’s Asian American and Pacific Isander Hertiage Month, the Arizona Diamondbacks are kicking-off a series of Asian Heritage Celebrations at Chase Field starting tonight, May 1, with a sold-out Japanese Heritage Celebration. With the guidance and participation of local organizations and businesses, fans will get to immerse themselves in Asia’s diverse culture through music, art, games, social traditions and more right here at the ballpark tonight during Japanese Heritage Celebration as well as on Saturday, May 25 during Chinese Heritage Celebration and Tuesday, June 11 during Filipino Heritage Celebration.

While today’s D-backs Japanese Heritage hat special ticket package is sold-out, fans attending tonight’s game against the Dodgers can still celebrate and enjoy the organizations and vendors representing Arizona’s Japanese heritage throughout the concourses including JBAA, Japanese Culture Club of Arizona, the Japanese Friendship Garden, Taiko drumming artist Ken Koshio, Phoenix Shogi, ASU’s Riichi Mahjong Club and many more. After tonight, the next in the series of Asian Heritage Celebrations will be Chinese Heritage Celebration on Saturday, May 25 when the Diamondbacks host the Marlins. Arizona State University School of International Letters and Cultures and other local organizations, to be announced soon, will join us for a special night honoring Chinese traditions and culture. The series will culminate on Tuesday, June 11 with Filipino Heritage Celebration during the Diamondbacks game against the Angels.
