SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The San Francisco Giants and Atlanta Braves completed a trade today, with RHP Anthony Molina joining the Giants in exchange for RHP Tyler Mahle. Molina was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento.
Molina, 24, has spent the majority of this season with Triple-A Gwinnett, going 3-2 with a 3.64 ERA (22er, 54.1ip), 56 strikeouts and a 1.23 WHIP in 18 games (nine starts). In three games with Atlanta, Molina has a 5.40 ERA (3er, 5.0ip) and two strikeouts.
The San Joaquin, VZ, native originally signed with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018, and has pitched parts of three seasons in the Majors with Colorado (2024 and 2025) and Atlanta (2026). He is 2-2 with a 6.89 ERA (76er, 99.1ip) in 55 MLB games.
Mahle was 3-9 with a 5.13 ERA (54er, 94.2ip), 89 strikeouts and a 1.39 WHIP in 18 starts for the Giants this season.
