Major League Baseball and the Atlanta Braves today announced MLBx: Atlanta, a high-energy, co-ed baseball competition coming to Truist Park on Saturday, August 15 as part of the Braves’ 2026 Alumni Weekend presented by your Local Ford Dealer. The event will feature Braves alumni, Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) players, and collegiate baseball standouts competing in a fast-paced format built around power hitting, defensive prowess, and non-stop fan entertainment.
MLBx: Atlanta follows the excitement generated by the 2025 Home Run Derby and Home Run Derby X events in Atlanta during MLB All-Star Week. The new Alumni Weekend event will continue that momentum with MLBx: Atlanta, featuring four teams of three players, each led by a Braves alumnus, who will be joined by an AUSL player and a college baseball player from Georgia Tech or the University of Georgia.
The competition will include two semifinal matchups and a swing-off final. During each semifinal game, every player receives a 90-second at-bat while the opposing team plays defense. Teams score points through home runs, defensive catches and bonus targets, with a five-swing "Hot Streak" allowing points to be doubled. At the end of a game, the team with the most points wins. The winners from each semifinal will take part in a Championship Alumni Swing-off to determine the MLBx: Atlanta champions.
The Braves alumni in attendance will be newly-inducted National Baseball Hall of Fame centerfielder Andruw Jones, 11-year MLB veteran Charlie Culberson, two-sport standout Brian Jordan, and 13-year MLB standout Kevin Pillar. This group combined for 762 career home runs, including 465 with the Atlanta Braves.
Scheduled AUSL players include Bri Ellis and Jordan Woolery of the Utah Talons (which just won its second consecutive AUSL Championship), Sydney Romero of the Oklahoma City Spark, and Megan Grant of the Portland Cascade. Ellis was named the 2026 AUSL Comeback Player of the Year, while Grant and Romero were named to the 2026 All-AUSL team. Romero and Ellis both competed in Home Run Derby X in 2025.
Georgia Tech will be represented by infielders Will Baker and Ryan Zuckerman, and the University of Georgia will be represented by catcher/outfielder Jack Arcamone and infielder/outfielder Jake Hanley. Alumni roster and participant lineup are subject to change.
