The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that the club has selected the contracts of right-handed pitchers Jared Jones, Ryder Ryan and Hunter Stratton to the 26-man active roster. To make room on the 40-man roster, catcher Ali Sanchez, left-handed pitcher Jackson Wolf and outfielder Canaan Smith-Njigba have been designated for assignment.

The team has also placed right-handed pitchers Carmen Mlodzinski (right elbow inflammation) and Colin Holderman (illness) on the 15-day injured list. Catcher Yasmani Grandal (left foot plantar fasciitis) and infielder/outfielder Ji Hwan Bae (strain of the left hip muscle) have been placed on the 10-day injured list. All players placed on the 10- and 15-day injured list are retro to March 25.

Additionally, right-handed pitcher Roansy Contreras has been placed on the MLB paternity leave list. Left-handed pitcher Jose Hernandez has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take Contreras’ place on the 26-man active roster.
