Philadelphia — The Texas Rangers today announced the following roster moves prior to Wednesday night’s game against the Phillies in Philadelphia:

  • Right-handed pitcher Dane Dunning activated from 15-day Injured List.
  • Right-handed pitcher Cole Winn optioned to Triple-A Round Rock.

Dunning is scheduled to start Wednesday night's game in Philadelphia. He has gone 3-2 with a 4.10 ERA (17 ER/37.1 IP) over 7 games/starts for Texas this season, holding opponents to a .195 batting average with 17 walks and 43 strikeouts. His 10.4 strikeouts per 9 innings average is best among Texas starters in 2024. Dunning was on the 15-day Injured List from May 5-21 with a right rotator cuff strain. He did not have an injury rehabilitation assignment, but had bullpen sessions both Friday and Sunday in Arlington ahead of tonight’s start. Tonight will be his first outing since May 4 at Kansas City.

Winn went 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA (11 ER/14.1 IP) over 11 relief appearances with Texas since being recalled on April 14 for his first Major League stint, allowing 2 earned runs over 1.1 innings in his most recent appearance Tuesday night at Philadelphia. He opened his MLB career with 7.0 scoreless innings over his first 5 appearances, as opponents went 0-for-their-first-21 against Winn.

With these transactions, Texas remains at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with eight players on the 60-day Injured List: Brock Burke, Carson Coleman, Jacob deGrom, Justin Foscue, Josh Jung, Tyler Mahle, Austin Pruitt, and Max Scherzer.

MINOR LEAGUE SIGNING: The Rangers have signed right-handed pitcher Nabil Crismatt (pronounced na-BILL CRIZ-matt) to a minor league contract and he will be assigned to Round Rock (AAA). He was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on May 15 and was granted free agency on May 17.

The 29-year-old Colombia native has gone 1-1 with a 2.57 ERA (2 ER/7.0 IP) over 5 relief appearances for the Dodgers this season, spending the balance of the year at Oklahoma City (AAA), where he went 1-0 with a 5.68 ERA (8 ER/12.2 IP) over 4 games/3 starts. He has seen action in 5 MLB seasons, going 9-6, 3.71 over 114 G/1 GS with STL (2020), SD (2021-23), ARI (2023), and LAD (2024).
