Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers announced the following transactions prior to tonight’s game against the New York Mets at Globe Life Field:
- Right-handed pitcher Gavin Collyer recalled from Triple-A Round Rock
- Right-handed pitcher Winston Santos optioned to Rookie-level ACL Rangers
Collyer, 25, is embarking on his fourth stint with the Rangers this year – his rookie campaign – joining previous stays on Texas’ active roster from April 15-May 18, May 24-31, and June 30-July 17. Across 11 relief appearances on his most recent option at Round Rock, Collyer went 3-0 with 2 saves, a 2.03 ERA (3 ER/13.1 IP), and 16 strikeouts against just 4 walks, ranking among Pacific Coast League relievers with as many innings pitched since July 22 in wins (T4th), ERA (12th), and strikeout to walk ratio (T12th, 4.00). The right-hander, who made his Major League debut for Texas this season on April 15 at the Athletics, is seeking his first MLB action since July 17 at Atlanta (1.0 IP, 2 H, 4 R-ER, 2 BB, 1 SO, 41 pitches), having gone 1-1 with a 5.09 ERA (13 ER/23.0 IP) across 23 relief appearances for the Rangers in 2026.
The Lawrenceville, Ga. native has gone 5-0 with 4 saves, a 2.37 ERA (8 ER/30.1 IP), 18 walks, and 42 strikeouts over 28 relief outings for Round Rock this year, his seventh professional season (2019, 2021-26; all with TEX org.). He was originally selected by the Rangers in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB Draft from Mountain View (Ga.) H.S. before being re-signed to a minor league contract on December 16, 2025.
Santos, 24, did not appear for Texas after he was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday for his third stint on the Rangers active roster (also June 24-July 1, July 30). He has one Major League appearance to date: his MLB debut on July 1 at Cleveland (2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R-ER, 1 BB, 1 SO, 33 pitches).
With today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with six players on the 60-day Injured List (RHP’s Carter Baumler, Jose Corniell, Jack Leiter, Cal Quantrill, and Cole Winn, and LHP Jalen Beeks).
