Major League Baseball announced today that Saturday’s scheduled game between the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago Cubs at Fenway Park has been relocated to the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, to be played on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. (ET)/2:05 p.m. (CT). The relocation to a neutral site was made due to the forecast for a nor’easter in Boston, which is expected to impact conditions for the remainder of the weekend.
To ensure the safety of both traveling parties, both the Red Sox and the Cubs will travel to Florida this evening following the completion of today’s doubleheader at Fenway.
