He was named International League Pitcher of the Month for July, after going 1-0 with a 0.96 ERA (28.0 IP, 3 ER), 12 walks and 24 strikeouts in five July starts. The 2015 American League Cy Young Award winner, two-time All-Star (2015 & ’17) and five-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner has gone 101-91 with a 3.98 ERA (1588.0 IP, 702 ER), 489 walks and 1218 strikeouts in parts of 11 major league seasons with Houston, Atlanta, Chicago-AL, Arizona and Texas.

To make room for Keuchel on the 26-man roster, the Twins have placed right-handed pitcher Joe Ryan on the 15-day Injured List with a left groin strain. Ryan, 27, has gone 9-8 with a 4.43 ERA (126.0 IP, 62 ER), 25 walks and 152 strikeouts in 22 starts for the Twins this season.

To make room for Keuchel on the 40-man roster, the Twins have transferred right-handed pitcher José De León to the 60-day Injured List. De León was originally placed on the Injured List on June 25 and underwent Tommy John surgery on July 19.
