Prospect rankings are ever evolving. But big changes have taken place around MLB Pipeline ahead of the Trade Deadline as we've updated our Team Top 30 lists to redo the top 10s and note the biggest risers and fallers.
More changes are coming as we include the 2026 Draft class, but this update gives a good look at who is trending up.
Two players in particular who've leapt up lists are Red Sox catcher Franklin Primera and Orioles southpaw Caden Hunter. Neither player was ranked to start the year, but both are now clearly among their respective organization's best prospects. Primera is up to sixth on the Red Sox list thanks to a well-rounded offensive profile, while Hunter's stuff has helped him rise to 11th on the O's rankings in his debut season.
Both prospects are not only trending up in value but also playing extremely well, enough to earn their spot on the latest Prospect Team of the Week. Could they one day join fellow honorees Theo Gillen and Charles Davalan on the Top 100 one day? Time will tell, but it doesn't hurt if they keep playing lights-out.
To be eligible for the Pipeline Prospect Team of the Week, Minor League players must be ranked among their club's Top 30 prospects on Pipeline's lists. (Those in the Majors do not qualify.)

C: Franklin Primera, Salem RidgeYaks (Single-A)
Red Sox No. 6

Primera has been a breakout star from Boston's 2024 international class, signing for $10,000. The 19-year-old has torn up Single-A since his promotion at the end of June, and the past two series have been no exception. He started last series with his third four-hit game of the year and followed it up with his first homer in full-season ball. The Venezuela native has managed the zone level at every level, with a career 55/39 BB/K ratio, and has the tools to become a quality defender.
1B: Blake Burke, Biloxi Shuckers (Double-A)
Brewers No. 18
.394/.512/1.030, 9 G, 13-for-33, 6 HR, 3 2B, 13 RBI, 9 R, 7 BB, 11 K, 4 SB
Burke ranks second in the Southern League with a .960 OPS, and last weekend played no small role. The 34th pick in the 2024 Draft went deep three times on Friday and followed that up with another two homers on Sunday. Impressively, his power is coming without a ton of swing-and-miss. Among the 11 qualified Minor Leaguers in full-season ball with at least a .300 ISO -- Burke's is .324 -- his 23.6 percent strikeout rate is third-lowest. Burke previously made a Prospect Team of the Week in June 2025 and April 2026.
2B: Yandel Ricardo, Columbia Fireflies (Single-A)
Royals No. 9
.536/.606/.821, 8 G, 15-for-28, 1 HR, 2 3B, 1 2B, 9 RBI, 7 R, 5 BB, 4 K, 3 SB, 2 CS
Ricardo was the jewel of the Royals' 2024 international class, signing for $2.4 million as the No. 17 overall prospect of the period, and he's in the midst of his best season to date. The switch-hitting infielder, who has split his time between second and short, is in the midst of a red-hot July in which he's slashing .350/.466/.500. He had a stretch of six straight multihit performances, including a career-high four knocks on Tuesday. The Cuban native ranks second on the Fireflies with 21 steals, although his efficiency leaves room for improvement, as he's been caught stealing 11 times.
3B: Jack Gurevitch, Peoria Chiefs (High-A)
Cardinals No. 26

After spending his debut season entirely playing first, the 2025 third-rounder has split this season between the infield corners. Time will tell if he can stick at third, but the most important thing is that he's been hitting well. The University of San Diego product has hits in 15 of his 17 games this month, including a four-hit, three-homer game on Tuesday. The left-handed slugger leads all qualified Cardinals Minor Leaguers in full-season ball in OPS (.931).
SS: Wilder Dalis, Fresno Grizzlies (Single-A)
Rockies No. 21

Dalis made his full-season debut at the end of last year but has taken his production to another level in his return to the California League this year. Although he missed most of May with a right shoulder impingement, the 19-year-old is slashing .300/.402/.552, with a .954 OPS that ranks sixth on the circuit among players with at least as many plate appearances as him. The switch-hitter collected hits in every game last series as he went deep in the first three games and tied a season high with four hits to cap it off.
OF: Charles Davalan, Great Lakes Loons (High-A)
Dodgers No. 8/MLB No. 82
.452/.528/1.032, 8 G, 14-for-31, 4 HR, 1 3B, 4 2B, 10 RBI, 10 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 CS
The Arkansas product has been an on-base machine lately and is tapping into more power. He's gone for extra bases on 11 of his past 16 hits and collected multiple knocks in six straight contests. Not only does the left-handed hitter rank 13th in High-A with a .913 OPS, but he also ranks third with a 49/42 BB/K ratio. Davalan has an 84 percent contact rate and 92 percent in-zone contact rate, the latter of which would rank among the top 20 in the Majors. This is his second Prospect Team of the Week appearance after also making it in August 2025.
OF: Theo Gillen, Montgomery Biscuits (Double-A)
Rays No. 1/MLB No. 9

Gillen got off to a slow start in his first three series with Double-A Montgomery, posting just a .518 OPS, but he's been on a tear since. In the past two weeks, the 2024 first-rounder has hit safely in every game and hit his first four homers at the new level. The Texas native is now hitting .276/.376/.494 at Double-A and ranks 14th among qualified full-season Minor Leaguers with a .991 OPS between two levels. This is Gillen's third time making a Prospect Team of the Week after previously doing so in May 2025 and April 2026.
OF: Gavin Cross, Omaha Storm Chasers (Triple-A)

The No. 9 pick in the 2022 Draft is riding an 18-game hitting streak, with multiple hits in 10 of those contests. Better yet, he's gone deep in five straight games to end the week. During that span, the left-handed hitter has increased his OPS 141 points to .729. Cross has, well, crossed the 20-steal threshold for the fourth straight season and owns a remarkable 85.6 percent career success rate. He's no stranger to the Prospect Team of the Week, after previous appearances in August 2022 and May 2023.
LHP: Caden Hunter, Frederick Keys (High-A)
Orioles No. 11
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 7 2/3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 12 K, 0.26 WHIP
Hunter has been a revelation in his debut season after the Orioles drafted him in the sixth round last July out of Southern California. The southpaw did not give up an earned run in either outing -- he's done so in half of his 16 outings -- while striking out eight in his most recent start -- the seventh time he's done so. Using a four-pitch mix, he has generated a 38.1 percent strikeout rate, which ranks third among Minor Leaguers with at least as many innings as him this year (68).
RHP: Bryce Mayer, Corpus Christi Hooks (Double-A)
Astros No. 5
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 11 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 17 K, 0.82 WHIP
The Astros' top pitching prospect is on quite a run in the Texas League, as he's only given up one run across 23 2/3 innings in his past five starts, lowering his ERA to 2.86, which would be second on the circuit if he qualified. He's picked up a ton of whiffs in his past two starts and increased his strikeout rate to 35.1 percent, 11th among Minor Leaguers with at least as many innings as him (63). Command has been the biggest question mark for the 6-foot-2 righty, and he issued just one walk in three of his past four starts.
RP: Hayden Harris, Gwinnett Stripers (Triple-A)
Braves No. 19
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 3 G, 2 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 7 K, 0.43 WHIP
Harris is back for his second go-around on a Prospect Team of the Week after making his first one in 2025, and he's stood out as one of the higher-ranking relievers because of his swing-and-miss stuff. And in three appearances across the past two series, the 6-foot-2 southpaw has recorded every out by strikeout. Despite throwing his low-90s fastball 73 percent of the time, he's racked up a 31.8 percent whiff rate on the pitch thanks to the deception and carry he gets on his funky delivery.
