The Minor League season is winding to an end, which makes this a good time to look at an all-breakout team for 2023. My squad consists of prospects who didn't make our preseason Top 100 but have forced their way onto the list in the last five months.

I did take a couple of liberties because there were four primary third basemen who deserved recognition, so I shifted two of them to secondary positions and stashed one at DH. It's my newsletter, so I make the rules!

The 2023 all-breakout team (current Top 100 ranking in parentheses):

Ethan Salas, C, Padres (No. 5): We knew the consensus top prospect in the 2023 international class was good, but we didn't expect him to do anything close to jumping to Double-A and No. 5 on the Top 100 at age 17.

Xavier Isaac, 1B, Rays (No. 95): A surprise first-round pick a year ago, he has some of the best raw power in the Minors and matched his age with 19 homers between two Class A levels.

Colt Keith, 2B, Tigers (No. 25): He has raked throughout his pro career, slashing .302/.383/.509 through three years and slamming 24 homers between Double-A and Triple-A in his age-21 season in 2023.

Tyler Black, 3B, Brewers (No. 51): His pure hitting ability made him a supplemental first-round pick out of Wright State in 2021, and with his next extra-base hit he'll be the third Minor Leaguer with 50 XBH and 50 steals this season.

Junior Caminero, SS, Rays (No. 6): Another example of why it's dangerous to trade with the Rays. The Guardians swapped him for Tobias Myers in November 2021, and now Caminero is hitting .330/.391/.604 between High-A and Double-A in his age-19 season.

Roman Anthony, OF, Red Sox (No. 35): His data was much more impressive than his statistics when the Red Sox promoted Anthony from Single-A in mid-June, and he since has batted .292/.408/.570 while reaching Double-A at age 19.

Owen Caissie, OF, Cubs (No. 64): The best part of the Yu Darvish trade for the Cubs, he's now the best power prospect on the Top 100 with unreal exit velocities and 21 Double-A homers in his age-20 season.

Yanquiel Fernandez, OF, Rockies (No. 49): Another 20-year-old slugger in Double-A, he has 45 homers in two full seasons and his strong arm adds to his classic right-field profile.

Coby Mayo, DH, Orioles (No. 27): The Orioles have MLB Pipeline's top-ranked farm system in large part because of an overabundance of high-upside position prospects, and Mayo has more raw power than any of them.

Anthony Solometo, LHP, Pirates (No. 84): He draws comparisons to Madison Bumgarner because of his unorthodox mechanics, which add deception to a quality three-pitch mix.

Jacob Misiorowski, RHP, Brewers (No. 36): If you watched the Futures Game, you saw why some scouts think he has better stuff than anyone in the Minor Leagues.
