Rangers get lefty Rodriguez from Phillies

Reliever sent to Round Rock after Texas strikes deal for PTBN or cash

ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have acquired left-handed reliever from the Phillies for either a player to be named or cash considerations.
Rodriguez was designated for assignment by the Phillies on Thursday. He was 1-2 with a 6.33 ERA in 26 relief appearances, allowing 37 hits and 15 walks in 27 innings while striking out 18.
The Phillies acquired Rodriguez from the Pirates in 2014, and he made his Major League debut last September, posting a 2.79 ERA in 12 games. He has been assigned to Triple-A Round Rock.
