Ross, 30, is the scheduled starting pitcher for tonight's homestand opener against Seattle. He will be making his Texas debut tonight after being on the disabled list all season as he returned from surgery to relieve Thoracic Outlet Syndrome on October 13, 2016. The San Diego Padres' 2015 Pitcher of the Year, Ross' last major league start was the Padres' season opener on April 4, 2016 vs. Los Angeles-NL (L, 5.1 IP, 8 R-7 ER). He was on the disabled list for the duration of last season with right shoulder inflammation.

Ross made 4 starts on an injury rehabilitation assignment with Triple-A Round Rock, going 2-1 with a 7.71 ERA (16 ER/18.2 IP). His last outing was June 9 at Oklahoma City (L, 5.0 IP, 10 H, 8 R-ER, 1 BB, 2 SO, 3 HR, 87 pitches/56 strikes). He has a 32-53 record with a 3.64 ERA over 153 games/102 starts in his major league career with Oakland (2010-12) and San Diego (2013-16).

Gomez sustained a right hamstring strain while running the bases and scoring from second base in the seventh inning on May 14 vs. Oakland. He has batted .246 with 4 home runs, and 13 RBI over 38 games with Texas this season, as he started 38 of the club's first 39 games in center field. He played 4 total games on an injury rehabilitation assignment with Round Rock (AAA) and Frisco (AA), going 3-for-14 with a home run, 3 RBI, and one walk. He has started the past two nights in center field for Frisco against San Antonio, and hit a leadoff home in last night's contest.

Napoli was placed on the disabled list on June 6, retroactive to June 4, with a lower back strain. He is batting .192 with 11 home runs and 25 RBI over 51 games with the Rangers this season, including 8 home runs in May, which ranked T7th-most in the A.L. last month. He went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter for Frisco (AA) last night vs. San Antonio in his lone game on injury rehabilitation assignment.

Alvarez will be in his third stint with Texas this season, the others from Opening Day-May 7 and May 8-June 8. He has gone 2-0 with a 3.27 ERA (4 ER/11.0 IP) in 14 relief appearances for Texas, and was on the disabled list from May 26-June 5 with a left elbow strain. He made one appearance with Round Rock (AAA) after being optioned on Friday, recording 4 outs on Sunday at Oklahoma City: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 SO, 1 HBP, 2 WP, 19 pitches/11 strikes.

Barnette has gone 1-1 with a 7.23 ERA (19 ER/23.2 IP) in 23 relief appearances with Texas this season. Barnette's 76 appearances since the start of 2016 are 3rd-most among Rangers (90-Sam Dyson, 82-Matt Bush). The first date he would be eligible to return is June 25.

Profar went 2-for-14 in 5 games/3 starts after being recalled on June 9. He has a .135 batting average in 20 games/16 starts spanning two stints with Texas this season (Opening Day-April 30, June 9-15). Rua has a .202 average with 3 home runs and 11 RBI in 45 games/27 starts for the Rangers this season, and has been on the active roster for all but six days since the start of 2016.

The Rangers have seven days to trade, release, or outright Gee to the minor leagues. Gee has no record and a 4.15 ERA (6 ER/13.0 IP) in 4 games/one start with Texas this season since he was recalled from Round Rock on May 27. He was 3-4 with a 3.88 ERA in 9 starts with the Express before his promotion to Texas.

After today's transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club's major league roster, along with four players on the 60-day disabled list.

DRAGMIRE RELEASED: RHP Brady Dragmire has been released at Round Rock. Dragmire, 24, was received by Texas via waiver claim from Pittsburgh on two occasions in December before he was assigned outright to Round Rock on January 27. He was a non-roster invitee to major league spring training before being assigned to minor league camp on March 20.
