Rangers set events for Globe Life Park farewell

September 19th, 2019

HOUSTON -- The Rangers will place standing-room only tickets on sale Thursday morning for the final game at Globe Life Park. That game -- the 2,081st and final regular-season game in the ballpark’s 25 years -- will be against the Yankees at 2:05 p.m. CT on Sept. 29.

All reserved tickets for the final game game have been sold. Some scattered singles and obstructed-view seats are available. But reserved tickets for the Friday and Saturday games -- Sept. 27-28 -- against the Yankees, are still available.

Tickets can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by telephone (972-RANGERS) or at the Globe Life Park first-base box office. Globe Life Park suites are available for rental for all games on the final home stand except for the last game.

The Rangers also announced Wednesday that good seats are available for the next-to-last series at Globe Life Park, against the Red Sox at 7:05 p.m. CT on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 1:05 p.m. CT on Sept. 26.

Among the highlights of the final homestand:

Friday, Sept. 27 -- The final T-Mobile Friday Fireworks show will feature video highlights of the great moments at Globe Life Park, including television and radio play-by-play calls.

Before that game, the Rangers are expected to honor the organization’s 2019 Minor League award recipients.

Globe Life Park Era All-Time Team members Colby Lewis and Mike Napoli will be signing autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 6-6:45 p.m. CT.

Saturday, Sept. 28 -- For the final night game at Globe Life Park, all fans will receive a TXU Energy 2010 AL Pennant Scoreboard Replica that shows the right-field video board after the final out of Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Yankees.

Rangers third-base coach Tony Beasley will sing the national anthem, and Globe Life Park Era All-Time Team members Hank Blalock, Neftali Feliz and Ivan Rodriguez will be signing autographs in the New Era Alumni Alley from 6-6:45 p.m. CT.

A special ceremony to turn out the lights for the last time will take place after the final out. That will be followed by a TXU Energy Postgame Fireworks show that will be a salute to baseball in Texas and will feature several musical surprises.

Sunday, Sept. 29 -- All fans will receive a commemorative Globe Life Park Final Game T-Shirt, and pregame festivities will include on-field recognition of longtime season ticket holders and the Rangers’ front office.

To commemorate the first national anthem played at Globe Life Field, which was performed by Van Cliburn, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will do the honors before the final game.

After that game, there will be an on-field ceremony with members of the Rangers Globe Life Park Era All-Time Team introduced at their positions.

Home plate will be removed and transported via parade across the street for a ceremonial installation at Globe Life Field. That parade will include the Globe Life Park All-Time Team, Rangers front office employees, City of Arlington officials and several musical groups.

The parade will leave Globe Life Park through the east loading dock before going west on Road to Six Flags, south on Ballpark Way, and west on Randol Mill Road to the North Plaza at Texas Live! where home plate will be carried into Globe Life Field.

Fans can watch the parade along the route or on the Globe Life Park video boards. The ceremony will replicate the event from Oct. 3, 1993, when home plate made the move from Arlington Stadium to The Ballpark in Arlington.
