ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will open their 2017 Cactus League schedule on Feb. 25 against the Royals at Surprise Stadium, according to their Spring Training schedule announced on Tuesday. Texas closes its Spring Training schedule with two games against the Royals on March 31-April 1 at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The Rangers open the regular season against the Indians on April 3 in Arlington. • Rangers' Spring Training schedule | Regular-season schedule Texas' Spring Training schedule includes two games against the Indians on March 17-18 in San Antonio as part of the annual Big League Weekend. The Rangers will have split-squad games both days in Arizona against the Angels in Surprise on March 17 and the Reds in Goodyear the following day. The Rangers will play 33 games in Arizona, two in San Antonio and two in Arlington. One of the games in Arizona is against Team Venezuela on March 9 as they prepare for the World Baseball Classic. That means the Rangers could face shortstop Elvis Andrus and other teammates who are planning to play for Venezuela.
