ARLINGTON -- The Rangers have been a force at home this season with a 20-9 record at Globe Life Park after their 10-4 win over the Mariners Saturday night. With the win, they tied the club record with nine straight series won at home, set back in 1993.
The stretch dates back to April 16 when they won a rubber match against the Orioles. They will get a chance to break the club record when they open up a four-game set with the Astros on Monday at home.
The Rangers didn't waste any time Saturday, scoring three runs in the first inning for the second straight night to back starter Martin Perez. The win put them a season-high two games ahead of Seatle at first place in the American League West. 
"It's been huge to be able to do that the past two games and keep tacking them on to give [the pitchers] a little bit of breathing room. It helps them out a lot," said Ryan Rua, whose two-run double capped the three-run inning.

Three innings later, Elvis Andrus gave the Rangers plenty of insurance with a three-run homer into the left-field seats. It was his second of the season and he's now batting .298 after the 2-for-4 effort in the win.
 "It's always nice for our guys to give our pitcher, the starter, a lead," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "If we can continue to build on that lead, it allows them to settle in, try to throw more strikes."

"It was a collective team effort. I think Martin has pitched really well his last four or five starts. ... I just did my job -- go out there and be aggressive," Andrus said.
Nomar Mazara put the finishing touches on the record-tying win with an opposite-field, solo homer to left in the eighth inning. He now leads all American League rookies with 10 home runs.

Odor gets standing ovation in return
Rangers fans were excited to have Rougned Odor back in the lineup, giving the Rangers second baseman a standing ovation in his first plate appearance since returning from his seven-game suspension.
"It was amazing," he said. "It was hard for me to watch those games on the TV. IT was amazing for me to come back and the fans here gave me some love. It was great."

Odor went 2-for-4 and scored two runs in his first game back.
