Rangers turn their second triple play of season

September 21st, 2022

Josh Jung had another welcome to the big leagues moment in just his 11th game with the Rangers, starting off a triple play in the sixth inning on Tuesday night. It was the second one of the season turned by Texas, the previous one coming on April 20 vs. the Mariners.

With runners on first and second and John King on the mound, Angels catcher Max Stassi rapped a sharp grounder to third base. Jung wasn't playing particularly close to the bag, but he was still able to take a few steps to touch third and fire to second, where Marcus Semien made a beautiful turn to finish off the triple play.

The most recent triple play before this one was turned by the Orioles on Sunday.
