Injury: Right shoulder soreness
Expected return: Possibly Opening Day
Status: Withdrew from World Baseball Classic on Feb. 15, then “didn’t feel great” when playing catch from longer distances on Feb. 19. Exam revealed inflammation. Received a cortisone injection on Feb. 20, with a week off from throwing prescribed. (Last updated Feb. 21)

Injury: Left hamstring tightness
Expected return: Day to day
Status: Simpson will be held out of the first few games of Spring Training as a precaution. Has been working out on the field, but Rays don't want to risk further injury by putting him in games while he's still sore. (Last updated Feb. 21)
RHP Manuel Rodríguez
Injury: Right flexor strain, elbow surgery
IL date: Feb. 10 (60-day IL)
Expected return: Midseason 2026
