NEW YORK -- The Rays will provide more information about their planned new ballpark during a Tuesday news conference in Tampa, and principal owner Stuart Sternberg promised Friday that fans won't be disappointed.
"We've been marching towards this day and event for years," Sternberg said. "I couldn't be happier. People are going to love the place. They're going to love it."
Sternberg wouldn't reveal any details, but in making Friday's announcement, he said the Rays plan to build a "next-generation, neighborhood ballpark" in the Ybor City section of Tampa.
