PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Though it would have been fun for David Price to match up against Mets flame-thrower Noah Syndergaard on Sunday, he instead got to pitch against Yoan Moncada, the top-rated Red Sox prospect, according to MLBPipeline.com.
Due to an iffy weather forecast on the East Coast of Florida, the Red Sox had Price stay in Fort Myers and pitch an in-camp game.
Moncada went 2-for-3 against Boston's lefty ace, producing a single through the hole on a hit-and-run in his second at-bat and lining a single to right in his final at-bat.

"His last at-bat to me, that was very impressive," Price told reporters in Fort Myers. "After I came in 0-1 with a really good front-door two-seam [fastball], and he took it, then I went back away with a backdoor cutter. I feel like a lot of young guys would be sitting on that fastball in again and he didn't do that. He took the ball up the middle of the field. There's a lot of hits up the middle if you keep the ball there. That was pretty impressive."

Rafael Devers, the No. 2 Red Sox prospect, went 0-for-3 against Price.
Though Price would have preferred the adrenaline of pitching against the Mets in front of a ballpark full of fans, he was able to get what he needed out of the exercise.
Price threw 76 pitches, 59 of them for strikes. Over five innings, Price didn't allow a run or a walk. He gave up six hits.
If nothing else, Price should be ready to start the annual 11 a.m. ET Patriots Day game.
"Getting out there at 11, that's a little different, that's a little tougher," Price said. "But you might be the one that gets the Marathon game, as well. That's at 11 o'clock, so that's the way I look at it. I'll be ready for the 11 o'clock game."
Setup man Koji Uehara also pitched in the game, retiring all six batters he faced.
