Selected by Detroit in the sixth round of the 2010 June Draft, he has hit .248 (85-for-343) with five home runs in 138 games between the Tigers (2012-15) and Rangers (2016), making each of his 93 starts at catcher and throwing out 21 of 89 attempted base stealers (24%). Holaday also threw 1.1 scoreless innings of relief in the Rangers' 17-5 loss at Minnesota on July 2, the lone pitching appearance of his career.
