Travis, Boston's No. 7 prospect playing for Triple-A Pawtucket, is expected to recover in time for the 2017 season. A date for his surgery has not yet been set.
The 22-year-old first baseman injured his knee while making a tag on a rundown play against Indianapolis on Sunday. He was batting .272/.332/.434 with six homers and 29 RBIs through 47 games with Pawtucket this season.
