May 6th, 2017

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in today's Minor League action:
Hitter to watch: Rafael Devers (Red Sox's No. 1), Portland vs. Reading (1 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
MLBPipeline.com's No. 15 overall prospect is set to play a pair of games after Double-A Portland's home doubleheader vs. Reading was rained out on Friday. Devers, 20, has swung a hot bat of late, going 9-for-16 with three home runs, five RBIs and seven runs scored during his current four-game hitting streak. Overall, he's hitting .333/.366/.590 with five homers through 20 games.

Pitcher to watch: Brent Honeywell (Rays' No. 2), Durham at Norfolk (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Honeywell, ranked 27th on the Top 100, scuffled in his latest start for Triple-A Durham, allowing five earned runs on five hits in a season-low 3 2/3 frames against Buffalo on April 30. Though his ERA sits at 5.87 through three starts in the International League, the 22-year-old righty still has posted a 1.24 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and three walks in 15 1/3 innings.

Duel of the day: (White Sox No. 4) vs. (Braves' No. 5), Charlotte vs. Gwinnett (7:05 p.m. ET on MiLB.TV)
Lopez, 23, has completed six frames in three straight starts for Triple-A Charlotte, the last of which saw him allow one earned run on three hits while striking out six. With a 4.10 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings, the No. 40 overall prospect has been the most consistent starter of the White Sox Triple-A prospect trio.

Newcomb is looking to build off of one of the better starts of his career after he tossed seven scoreless frames of two-hit ball, with 11 strikeouts and two walks, in his most recent turn for Gwinnett. Ranked 73rd on the Top 100, Newcomb, 23, has pitched to a 3.08 ERA with a 35-to-15 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 26 1/3 innings (five starts) in 2017.
