Ramirez jams left wrist after slipping on stairs

SEATTLE -- Red Sox first baseman lost his balance going from the dugout to the clubhouse following Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Mariners and underwent an exam on his left wrist.
A Red Sox spokesman said no information would be available on Ramirez until Wednesday.
"After the game, he was walking down the dugout, there's two or three steps at the bottom of the dugout going into the clubhouse," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "He lost his footing, caught himself behind and jammed his left wrist. It's precautionary to see what's going on there."
Ramirez made his presence felt during the game, hitting a mammoth homer to left-center that got caught in some netting between the scoreboard and the stands.

A fan tried to retrieve the ball, but it was lodged in too firmly.
Perhaps that shouldn't be surprising, considering Ramirez's homer had an exit velocity of 112 mph and traveled a projected distance of 455 feet, according to Statcast™.
Ramirez later doubled. He is hitting .278 with 14 homers and 62 RBIs.
