Reds agree to terms with top Draft pick India

July 1st, 2018

CINCINNATI -- The Reds have agreed to terms on a contract with 2018 first-round Draft pick, third baseman Jonathan India, a source confirmed to MLB.com on Sunday. The deal is pending a physical, which is expected to be taken soon.
The 21-year-old India was the fifth overall pick drafted out of the University of Florida. He was not able to immediately sign because his school was still playing in the postseason and College World Series.
The fifth overall pick has a slot value of $5,946,400. It was not immediately clear what the bonus total was that India received. The club has made no formal announcement.
In 68 games this season, India batted .350/.497/.717 with 21 home runs and 52 RBIs.
