Reds-Indians matchup washed away by rain

May 9th, 2021

CLEVELAND -- The Ohio Cup will remain up for grabs for another three months.

Sunday’s series finale between the Indians and Reds was postponed due to inclement weather. The game will be rescheduled for Aug. 9 -- a mutual off-day for both clubs. The time for first pitch of the makeup game has yet to be decided.

Anyone who had a ticket to Sunday’s game can use that ticket for entry on Aug. 9. If fans cannot attend the makeup game, the original ticket purchaser must call 216-420-HITS beginning Monday at 9 a.m. ET to receive a credit that can be applied toward a future home game, subject to availability. All credit requests must be made by 5 p.m. ET on Aug. 4.

StubHub purchasers will be contacted directly by StubHub with further instructions. Tickets purchased on StubHub for the May 9 game will be accepted for the game on Aug. 9.

The Indians will now have consecutive off-days leading into their two-game series against the Cubs at Progressive Field. Shane Bieber will stay on schedule to make his start in the opener on Tuesday, but Sam Hentges -- who was expected to start on Sunday -- will now get the ball on Wednesday against Chicago.
