CINCINNATI -- Sunday's rubber game for the Reds vs. the Cardinals and the outcome of their three-game series at Great American Ball Park will have to be held for a while. The game was postponed because of rain.

The contest will be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Monday, Aug. 17, at 1:40 p.m. ET. The originally scheduled second game that night is at 6:40 p.m.

Fans holding tickets for Sunday's game can use them for the makeup game with no exchange necessary. Reds.com/rainout has more information and rainout policies.

This was the second postponement in three days for the team after Friday's game was pushed back to Saturday as part of a split doubleheader. The Cardinals won Game 1, 8-1, and the Reds pulled out a 7-6 victory in 11 innings during Game 2.

Up next for the Reds is a three-game series vs. the Mets that begins Monday at 4:10 p.m. ET at Citi Field.

Cincinnati, which has won three of its previous four games, is not altering its rotation because of the rainout. Brady Singer, who was Sunday's scheduled starter, will not take his regular turn Monday, as the Reds are sticking with Nick Lodolo, Chase Burns and Andrew Abbott to face the Mets as originally planned.
