Padres starting pitchers had a 2.02 earned run average in the four-game series against the Colorado Rockies with three quality starts.
Left-hander Clayton Richard allowed six hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Thursday night. Left-hander Christian Friedrich allowed two hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings Saturday night. And right-hander Edwin Jackson allowed two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in six innings Sunday afternoon.
The only non-quality start turned in during the four-game series was by Luis Perdomo. He allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings Friday night.
Over the four games, the four Padres starters worked 26 2/3 innings and allowed six runs on 21 hits and five walks with 26 strikeouts.

• Richard has allowed one earned run in 25 innings over his last four starts for a 0.36 ERA. During the run, Richard has given up 25 hits and seven walks with 20 strikeouts.
• Friedrich's effort Saturday resulted in his first win since June 23 and his first home win since June 6. His eight-decision losing streak was the longest by a Padres pitcher this season and the longest since Eric Stultz lost eight straight in 2014. In two starts against his former Colorado team this season, Friedrich allowed one unearned run on four hits and four walks with 19 strikeouts in 13 innings.
• Over his last two starts, Jackson has allowed two runs on nine hits and three walks with 15 strikeouts in 13 innings. In his three starts before that, Jackson gave up 18 runs on 23 hits and 10 walks in 11 2/3 innings.
NOTES FROM THE SCOREBOOK
• Left-handed reliever Brad Hand has come in during an inning each of the last three days against the Rockies to bail out a fellow reliever. Hand has appeared in a Major League-leading 72 games this season -- 34 more than he has ever appeared in before.
• 3B Yangervis Solarte was 2-for-4 Sunday with a sacrifice fly. He is 10-for-24 (.417) during a six-game hitting streak with three doubles, six RBIs and three runs scored. He has hit safely in 12 of his last 13 games, going 19-for-51 (.373) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs, 11 RBIs and seven runs scored.
• Right-handed reliever Kevin Quackenbush is 0-2 over his last five appearances. He has allowed four runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in five innings. On Sunday, he gave up the decisive home run to Mark Reynolds as the first hitter he faced in the 10th to take the loss.
• First baseman Wil Myers is hitting .319 in 70 home games this season. He is 86-for-270 with 19 doubles, three triples, 15 homers, 50 RBIs and 53 runs scored. His 15 home runs are tied for the most in a single season at Petco Park.
