The Blue Jays have called up left-hander Ricky Tiedemann from Triple-A Buffalo to be available for Saturday's game against the Yankees.
The promotion represents the culmination of a long journey for Tiedemann, Toronto's No. 11 prospect, who underwent Tommy John surgery in July 2024 and missed all of the 2025 season.
Selected by the Blue Jays in the third round of the 2021 MLB Draft (and the 91st overall pick), the lefty is 0-1 with a 6.43 ERA this season in seven appearances (two starts) for Buffalo. In his Minor League career, he's recorded a 5-11 record and a 3.18 ERA in 48 games (43 starts) and 147 innings.

Before his elbow injury, Tiedemann was Toronto's No. 1 prospect and the No. 29 prospect in baseball entering the 2024 season. The team has been cautious with his workload this season, but expects him to be a contributor at the big league level.
“Hopefully, he’s a factor for us in our rotation,” GM Ross Atkins told MLB.com last year. “That’s the plan, but we would be open to him impacting the team in a bulk role or some creative way, depending on how things are going.”
In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays optioned right-hander Chase Lee to Triple-A.
