What do ballplayers do while they’re out of action on the injured list? For Rockies outfielder Brenton Doyle, recovering from a left oblique contusion, he got to work on a new day job.
Doyle stopped by the Berry Kebabs stand at Coors Field before the Rockies' 9-3 loss to the Cubs on Thursday in the final game of the series. The two-time Gold Glove Award winner spent about 20 minutes there, serving up some delicious-looking treats and signing memorabilia for fans -- even a family in Chicago gear.
The Colorado broadcast said Doyle connected with the owner of the stand during Spring Training, leading to Thursday’s appearance. “He looked like a pro doing that!” the broadcast crew exclaimed.
