CHICAGO -- The Rockies put Nick Hundley through some batting and baseball activities before Friday's 6-1 victory over the Cubs, but by day's end had not determined whether to place him on the seven-day concussion disabled list.
Thus far, doctors and trainers haven't determined if Hundley suffered a concussion Wednesday night when he was hit hard by a foul tip during a game against the Giants. What is known is he suffered a forehead contusion from the force of the hockey goalie-style mask twisting from the impact of the ball.
Hundley hit in the batting cage Friday morning, and he was slated to do some running as well.

"We're just seeing with the day-to-day activities how I'm feeling," Hundley said.
The Rockies called up catcher Dustin Garneau from Triple-A Albuquerque to back up Tony Wolters, who made his second straight start -- and third overall against the Cubs -- on Friday.
Blackmon in a boot
Rockies center fielder Charlie Blackmon's left foot was placed in a walking boot as he tries to heal from a turf toe episode in his left big toe -- an injury he also had in 2012, when he suffered it in Spring Training before spending 4 1/2 months in the Minors. This time, Blackmon, the regular leadoff man, plans to return when eligible on April 29.
Asked when he will begin testing the foot, Blackmon said, "I don't really know. To feel really good, I'd like to use most of the 15 days to make sure I get healed up."
Blackmon has a .185 batting average and a .241 on-base percentage through eight games, but the quality of his at-bats have been higher than the numbers would indicate. He went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple Wednesday night against the Giants, but he injured the toe while diving into second base in the eighth inning.
"I felt like I was about to be really productive," Blackmon said. "I was having much more competitive at-bats than my batting average might suggest. But we're nine games into the season, so it's not a big deal, good or bad."
Garneau took Blackmon's spot on the active roster.
Gray to pitch in rehab game
Right-hander Jon Gray, who suffered an abdominal strain late in Spring Training, was scheduled to throw 85 pitches for Class A Advanced Modesto against Stockton in a rehab start Friday night. If all goes well, Gray could be activated to start next Friday against the Dodgers. Gray threw 64 pitches in his first rehab start, also for Modesto.
