Rehabbing Acuña shows off swings in cage

November 23rd, 2021

Braves star took some swings in the batting cage recently -- a major step in his ongoing rebab process.

Acuña missed half of the 2021 season after sustaining a torn ACL in July. He's expected to return in 2022, though general manager Alex Anthopoulos said on MLB Network earlier this month that it was too soon to know if Acuña would be ready by Opening Day.

Still, it's certainly a positive sign that the 23-year-old superstar is back in the cage. Acuña posted the video evidence to his Instagram story.

Acuña was well on his way to another stellar campaign prior to having his 2021 season cut short. He was slashing .283/.394/.596 (.990 OPS) to go with 24 home runs and 17 stolen bases in just 82 games. The outfielder had earned his second All-Star selection and he was once again right in the thick of the NL MVP conversation after earning a share of MVP votes in each of his first three seasons.
