FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A day after was scratched from the Twins lineup due to tightness in his right side, both he and the team got relief in the form of a clean MRI exam.

Lewis was already feeling better in the clubhouse Friday morning and expects to return to baseball activities as early as Saturday. It appears likely he will be able to return to the lineup following the Twins’ scheduled off-day on Monday.

“Royce’s MRI came back clean,” general manager Jeremy Zoll said. “His exam was much improved today. [It’s] the best-case scenario and really encouraging news. He’ll be down today. He’s back into baseball activity over the weekend, and we’ll see where we are at coming out of the off-day. We should be in a good spot here.”
