Seattle Seahawks XLVIII Super Bowl Champion quarterback Russell Wilson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Safeco Field on Friday, September 2, before the Seattle Mariners take on the Los Angeles Angels.
A special ticket promotion is available that includes a Mariners Why Not You Foundation T-shirt and a $12 donation to Wilson's foundation. Tickets are $29 for View Level and $46 for Main Level and are available online only at Mariners.com/WhyNotYou. Why Not You Foundation was launched in 2014 by Wilson with the mission of "creating real and lasting change in the world by motivating, empowering and preparing today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders."
In addition to financially supporting organizations aligned with the foundation's mission, Wilson works to extend the foundation's impact by making visits to Seattle Children's Hospital, advocating for pediatric cancer through Strong Against Cancer, working with the National Domestic Violence Hotline to Pass the Peace, as well as many others.
Since his Rookie of the Year season in 2012, Wilson has won more games than any other NFL quarterback in his first four seasons. He led the Seahawks to the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl victory in 2014 and the Seahawks third trip to the big game in 2015. Wilson is currently the second highest rated NFL passer of all time behind Aaron Rodgers.
