Healy to represent A's at Futures Game

July 9th, 2016

HOUSTON -- A's corner-infield prospect Ryon Healy will represent the organization at the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game on Sunday at Petco Park in San Diego.
The Futures Game features some of the best young talent around the Minor Leagues. Healy, selected to the U.S. roster, no doubt falls under this qualifier, having hit .316 with six home runs and 30 RBIs in 48 games since earning an in-season promotion to Triple-A Nashville.
In 84 games overall between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this year, Healy has a .325 average and a .382 on-base percentage. He's ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the club's No. 16 prospect.

Healy, a third-round selection by the A's out of the University of Oregon in 2013, impressed the big league staff during occasional appearances with the club in Spring Training this year.
"You look for when guys come over to big league camp for the first time, how they handle the situation," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "He was scared of nothing. He was aggressive in his at-bats."
The 18th edition of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will air Sunday on MLB Network at 4 p.m. PT.
