ST. LOUIS -- Reds right fielder Scott Schebler was forced to exit Saturday's 8-2 win over the Cardinals with a right shoulder injury after he collided with the wall to make a catch. X-rays came back negative.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, with Matt Carpenter on second base and one out, Yadier Molina drove a 1-0 pitch from Austin Brice the opposite way toward the right-field wall. Schebler made a long run and caught the ball as he fell. His right shoulder collided hard with the fence and stayed down on the warning track for a few moments.
"Once I got to the track, I kind of got turned around," Schebler said. "I made a little bit of leap. I came down funny. The way I spun, I spun myself right into the wall. It didn't feel very good."
Carpenter tagged up on the play, but Schebler had the presence to immediately flip the ball to center fielder Billy Hamilton so he could get it to the infield.
"I don't even remember that part. I just remember hitting the wall," Schebler said. "It's just instincts at that point. I'm glad we saved a run."

The Reds were trailing by a 2-1 score at the time.
Schebler was able to get up under his own power but was looked over by interim manager Jim Riggleman and head trainer Steve Baumann before he was removed. Adam Duvall entered the game in Schebler's spot in the lineup and played left field. Jesse Winker moved over from left field to play right.
"I think he's going to be alright," Riggleman said. "We'll probably stay away from playing him tomorrow. Then he's got the four days off for the All-Star break, so we anticipate he will be fine."
"I'm pretty sore right now," Schebler said. "But it's a good diagnosis."
This season, Schebler is batting .278/.351/.470 with 12 home runs and 37 RBIs for the Reds.
