DETROIT -- Hours after Spencer Torkelson hit his first home run of the season Wednesday night, he hit a walk-off homer Thursday afternoon, sending a ninth-inning drive deep to left off Abner Uribe to send the Tigers to a series win over the Brewers with a 5-4 win at Comerica Park.
The Tigers rallied late to erase a lead the Brewers built off Tarik Skubal. Jahmai Jones tied the game with a pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning off lefty Angel Zerpa. Brant Hurter stranded the potential go-ahead run in the top of the ninth with an inning-ending double play before Torkelson went deep off a 99 mile-per-hour fastball from Uribe. The ball went to nearly the same spot as his home run Wednesday night off Chad Patrick.
