Ports trio throws combined no-hitter

July 23rd, 2019

The Stockton Ports, the Class A-Advanced affiliate of the A's, not only defeated Rancho Cucamonga (Dodgers), 11-0 on Monday night, they did it with a combined no-hitter from starter Bryce Conley and relievers Eric Marinez and Jake Bray.

Conley tossed six innings, walking four and striking out six to lower his ERA with Stockton to 1.42 over four appearances (three starts) since being promoted from Class A Beloit.

Marinez, Oakland's No. 30 prospect, was dominant over two innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced. The shortstop-turned-pitcher has a 3.60 ERA, and since giving up four runs over two outings on July 5 and July 9, he hasn't yielded a run in his last four appearances (six innings).

Bray came on in the ninth and worked around a one-out walk to seal the no-hitter for Stockton. He's posted a 4.68 ERA in 22 appearances (one start) for the Ports.
