CHICAGO -- The playing portion of Tadahito Iguchi's baseball career has come to a close after 21 seasons, including four at the Major League level.
But during a press conference at Guaranteed Rate Field's Conference and Learning Center on Thursday, the second baseman and No. 2 hitter from the 2005 White Sox World Series champion team made it clear he's not done with baseball.
"In the future, I want to wear the uniform in Major League Baseball," Iguchi said through an interpreter. "I want to wear it as a manager or coach."
Iguchi returned to Chicago two years ago for the 10-year reunion of the '05 team. He said Thursday that at that time he spoke with White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf about returning to the White Sox in some role.

On Thursday, a tribute video was shown at the ballpark in honor of Iguchi, who played the last eight seasons of his professional career in Japan. Reinsdorf, executive vice president Ken Williams, former manager Ozzie Guillen, and former teammates Paul Konerko and Geoff Blum talked about Iguchi's career.
Iguchi also threw out a first pitch prior to Thursday's home finale with the Angels.
"It was my dream, and it became true," said Iguchi of winning the World Series. "It's the most good memories of the championship in 2005 and the White Sox. It was great. Twenty-one years of my professional career, and I remember this team."
