Target Field to host Smooth Tour 2017 on July 29

March 7th, 2017

The Twins are set to host their second concert of the year at Target Field, as Florida Georgia Line will be joined by Backstreet Boys, Nelly and Chris Lane on July 29, the club announced Tuesday.
The event, which is part of the Smooth Tour 2017, will be held the day after Billy Joel plays at Target Field for the first time on July 28. The announcement was made on ABC's Good Morning America on Tuesday, and the Twins will announce ticket details at a later date.
The Twins have held several musical acts at Target Field since it opened in 2010, including Paul McCartney, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band.
This concert combines genres, as Florida Georgia Line is a country band that has collaborated both with the rapper Nelly -- on their debut hit "Cruise" -- and with the boy band Backstreet Boys with their most recent single, "God, Your Mama, And Me." Chris Lane is an emerging artist who mixes R&B and country.
The concert series will also be held at Boston's Fenway Park on July 7 and Chicago's Wrigley Field on Aug. 12.
