Jungmann to avoid thin air, start at Double-A

June 30th, 2016

MILWAUKEE -- Struggling starter Taylor Jungmann is ready to pitch again, but he's not going back to the thin air of Triple-A Colorado Springs.
The Brewers instead assigned Jungmann to Double-A Biloxi, where he was scheduled to start Thursday night at Birmingham, Ala. It was to be his first start since June 10, a four-inning outing that left Jungmann with a 9.87 ERA after eight starts at Triple-A, prompting the Brewers to send him to their facility in Phoenix for a mental break.

It has been a trying season for the former first-round 2011 Draft pick, who has been unable to replicate his 2015 success. Jungmann opened the season as Milwaukee's No. 3 starter, but he went 0-4 with a 9.15 ERA before his demotion to Colorado Springs.
