November 15th, 2016

The Texas Rangers are scheduled to play 37 spring training games in 2017, including 32 Cactus League contests. The club released its complete spring training schedule and pricing on Tuesday.
This marks the second most games ever scheduled in spring training for the Rangers. The club had 38 scheduled games in 2013 but played just 36 due to rainouts.
The schedule includes a pair of exhibition games with the Kansas City Royals at Globe Life Park in Arlington to close the spring schedule on Friday, March 31 (7:05 p.m. CT) and Saturday, April 1 (1:05 p.m. CT). It will mark the third straight season that the club has hosted exhibition games versus a major league team in Arlington to close the spring training slate. Ticket information will be announced at a later date for those games.
As previously announced, the club's spring training schedule also includes two games with the American League champion Cleveland Indians in the fifth annual H-E-B Big League Weekend series at the Alamodome in San Antonio on Friday, March 17 (7:05 p.m. CT) and Saturday, March 18 (2:05 p.m. CT). Tickets for those games are now on sale at BigLeagueWeekend.com.
Texas' 33-game Arizona schedule features 19 contests at Surprise Stadium/Billy Parker Field. The Rangers will be the home team for 17 of those games and will be the visiting club for two contests against the Royals, who share the Surprise complex with Texas. Those two teams will play three times overall in Surprise in 2017, opening the spring schedule with the Surprise Sundancers Charity Game on Saturday, February 25, a Rangers' home game. Kansas City will be the home team for the final two spring meetings between the clubs on Sunday, February 26 and Wednesday, March 29.
In addition, the Rangers will play the Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Seattle Mariners twice each in Surprise with single home games against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Angels, Milwaukee Brewers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. At the other Cactus League parks, the team has two games versus the Angels, Oakland A's, and Mariners with one each against the Diamondbacks, White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Indians, Rockies, Dodgers, Brewers, and Padres.
Texas will also play Venezuela's World Baseball Classic squad in an exhibition game on Thursday, March 9 at Surprise Stadium. It marks the second time that the Rangers will play a WBC team in an exhibition game, the first since an 8-4 win over Japan on March 9, 2006 at Surprise Stadium. Japan went on to win the inaugural WBC that year.
Texas will play night games in Surprise with San Francisco on Monday, March 13 and with the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday, March 21, both at 6:05 p.m. MT. All other Rangers games in Surprise will begin at 1:05 p.m. MT with the exception of the final Cactus League game versus Kansas City on Wednesday, March 29, a 12:05 p.m. MT start.
