Rangers sign Plouffe to Minor League deal

The Rangers have signed veteran infielder/outfielder to a Minor League deal that includes an invite to Major League Spring Training, the club announced Monday.
Plouffe split last season between the A's and Rays. He combined to hit .198 with nine home runs and 19 RBIs in 100 games. The 31-year-old was drafted and developed by Minnesota, and spent his first seven big league seasons with the Twins from 2010-16. He's a lifetime. 242 hitter with a .714 OPS and 105 homers in 823 MLB games.
Primarily a third baseman, Plouffe has also played shortstop, first base, second base, and right and left field in the Majors.
The Rangers now have 65 players on the club's Spring Training roster, including a full 40-man roster and 25 non-roster invitees.
